SPIRIT OF CO-OPERATION

APPEAL BY THE MINISTER OF EDUCATION.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 13.

Emphasizing the large measure of co-operation which he said, existed throughout the Dominion’s educative system, the Minister of Education, Mr Fraser, appealed for an extension of the same spirit to other spheres of endeavour when he officially opened the new wing of St Heliers School on Saturday afternoon. “Our education system gives us an example of that co-operation which is absolutely essential to every other activity in the Dominion if this country is to go on from greatness to greatness,” the Minister said.

The amount of voluntary work performed was something he could not adequately describe. It was a striking example of devoted co-operation and it set a standard for the whole of the national life. If that spirit could be infused into other activities, economic, industrial, and general wealth production, nothing could hold back the Dominion. Standards of living would then not only be maintained but increased.
