WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
KAITUNA-FERNRIDGE
("Times-Age” Special.)
Although the monthly meeting of the Kaituna-Fernridge Women’s Institute did not see a full attendance of members, a very enjoyable time was spent. ■ Mrs Cameron of Mauriceville gave a most interesting talk on her trip to Sydney. A demonstration on novelty aprons in smocking was given by Mrs Ramsay, of Masterton, and great interest was shown in her work.
A competition, writing down names, was won by Miss L. Pain. The competitions for the month were judged by Mesdames Cameron and Ramsay and the following being the winners:—Seniors: coat hangers, Mrs Stempa 1, Mrs Shaw 2. Cream pastry, Mrs Keir, 1; Mrs Shaw, 2. Juniors: Handkerchiefs, Miss L. Shaw, 1; Miss J. Taylforth, 2.
The prizes for best bloom for the month went to Mrs Scharnweber and Mrs Keir.
The hostesses for the afternoon were’ Mesdames Taylforth, Pringle and Miss B. Pain.
A business man says he agrees that a woman should get a man’s pay. Well, show us the wife who doesn’t.
