BOBBY LOCKE’S TOUR EXHIBITION GAME AT TIMARU (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMARU. November 6. I In an exhibition golf match this afternoon. the vistiing South African. Bobby Locke, and the former New Zealand open champion, Alex Murray, finished all square against J. L. Mackay and G. E. Ussher, of the Tirnaru Club. The Tirnaru players were two up at the turn, but lost the tenth and eleventh holes. Ussher finished with 70. the par of the course, and Locke was credited with 70, allowing him two putts within 15 feet where he did not hole out. RIVERSIDE LADIES MIDWEEK SEASON CLOSED The Riverside ladies midweek golf club closed the 1938 season on Thursday last, with a Canadian foursome, and an approach and putt competition. At the conclusion afternoon tea was served and the trophies for the season presented by the captain, Mrs Palamontain. The following is a list of trophy winners: —Mrs Gray (R.S.A. trophy and bogeys); Mrs Rawlins (Ringer competition and bogey); Mrs Beresford (2 bogey rounds); Mrs Walker (sealed score); Mrs Brown (medal round); Mrs Batty (medal round), Mrs Jones (captain’s trophy, and medal aggregate); Mrs Naan (stableford); Mrs Beecroft (medal round); Mrs Clarkson (flag competition); Mrs Clarke and Mrs Brown (Canadian foursome); Mrs Beresford (approach and putt competition).

On behalf of those present Mrs Beresford presented Mrs Palamontain and Mrs Beecrbft, captain and secretary respectively, with a small token of appreciation for their services.
