ALFREDTON

TENNIS CLUB SEASON OPENED (“Times-Age” Special) The Alfredton Tennis Club held its opening day during the week-end, and although the weather was overcast conditions were ideal for play. The club is noted for its hospitality, and the president (Mrs George), when declaring the courts open, welcomed visitors from Mt Bruce, Eketahuna, Mangamutu and Pongaroa, as well as many new local members. As so many players were present, it was decided not to organise a tournament, friendly matches being played, and the three courts 'were occupied throughout the afternoon. * Afternoon tea was dispensed by the ladies. Personal Items. Mr B. Burch of Greytown is visiting his son, Mr H. R. Burch, of “Wharekoa.” Master Bryan Rolls, who recently returned home, is again an inmate of the Pahiatua Hospital. Mr Geo Hull 'is a Pahiatua visitor to Alfredton. Mr and Mrs J. B. Smith returned to their home, “Forest Flat” yesterday.
