TIRAUMEA
WOMEN’S DIVISION. MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Thursday the Tiraumea branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers' Union hold its monthly meeting in the Tiraumea Hall. In the hall was a display of work done by the Tiraumea school children for the Home and School Arts and Crafts Club. A competition, which was the best plate of scones, was won by Miss Connie Jewitt, second place going to Mrs Dick Jewitt. A delicious afternoon tea was served by the hostesses for the day. Guy Fawkes Celebration. On Saturday night a Guy Fawkes celebration was held by the school children and attended by most of the people in the district, after which the Women’s Division held a Monopoly and Bridge evening in the hall. Cricket Match. Duting the weekend the Tiraumea Cricket Club opened the season with a game against Rongomai at Rongomai. Rongomai won by 19 runs, making 112 runs (Stephenson 40.) to Tiraumea’s 93 (Hislop 37, not out). Bowling for Rongomai, Payne took 3 wickets for 4 run and for Tiraumea B. Bernie took 5 1 wickets for 8 runs.
