Miss N. R. Birt, Sydney, who has been visiting her sister Mr Juno, Pihautea, has left for National Park. Mr Melhuish, Petone, has been visiting his daughter Mr G. Sadler, Pukio. Mr T. O’Connell, Wellington, was the guest of Mr and Mrs J: B. Davis, over the weekend.
PLUNKET SOCIETY. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held in the Plunket Rooms there being present Mesdames Algar Williams' (in the chair), D. C. Collins, J. G. McKenzie, A. S. Kilsby, J. A. Halpin and F. M. Turner. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Q. Donald, G. S. Sharp, N. C. C. Shepherd, H. R. Bloxam, E. M. Wakely, and H. S. Bergh. Prior to. the commencement of business, on the motion of Mrs Algar Williams, a vote of condolence with Mrs Q. Donald in her recent bereavement was carried in silence. Mrs Algar Williams was appointed delegate to the annual conference of Plunket Societies to be held in Wellington on November 16 and 17. Accounts passed for payment totalled £1 4s 3d. The credit balance in the Bank of New Zealand and in the Post Office Savings Bank is £5l 0s 7d. One resignation was .accepted.
Nurse's Report.—Number of cases on books since inception of Society, 805. Babies under supervision, 55. New cases 4, 3 naturally fed, 1 artificially fed. Pre-school children under supervision, 31. Visits to rooms: Adult's 43. babied 41, pre-school children 3; total 87. Visits to homes: New cases 14, old cases 53; total 67. Districts visited: Featherston, Kaiwaiwai, Pahautea, Pukio, Kahutara, Otaraia, Martinborough, Lower Valley, Knoll, Dyerville, and Pirinoa.
Nurse Twentyman will commence her annual leave about the 15th, and Nurse Norris, of Wellington, will carry on during her absence.
