The late Mr Fleming was formerly owner and editor of the “Clutha Leader” and “Bruce Herald” and an ex-M.L.C.

The Rev. J. Walker, formerly of Eketahuna, has recently retired from parochial work. Mr Walker came to New Zealand from England in 1898. and was successively vicar of the Church of England at Eketahuna, St. Thomas’s (Newtown), Aramoho and Masterton. He returned to England in 1922, where he has since held several parochial charges. EKETAHUNA SALE. ADVANCE IN PRICES. Prices at the Eketahuna sale yesterday were slightly; in advance of those ruling recently. There was a good demand for both cattle and sheep, doubtless due to the rain having brought about a prospect of improved pastures in the immediate future.
