MANAWATU GORGE

ANOTHER SLIP PARTLY CLEARED. CARE IN DRIVING NECESSARY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, This Day. Following on a continued rainfall, a further slip descended in the Manawatu Gorge yesterday afternoon, blocking the route to Hawke’s Bay from the Manawatu. Owing to the fact that the slip continued to move, it was impossible to effect a clearance last night, but by 8.30 this morning the road was again open, though it was necessary to exercise driving care.
