TERMS OF NEW AWARD DENOUNCED
DEPUTATION TO INTERVIEW PRIME MINISTER. APPEAL TO THE FEDERATION OF LABOUR. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. As a result of the dissatisfaction, felt by drivers with the terms of their award, resolutions today have been received by the New Zealand Drivers’ Federation from all drivers’ unions calling upon the federation, in conjunction with the Federation of Labour, to express emphatic disapproval of the provisions of the new award, which are considered inadequate, and asking the Drivers’ Federation to urge the Government to remedy the position. A deputation is to wait upon the Prime Minister this afternoon to discuss the position.
The Wellington Union is to hold a special meeting on Monday night. A similar meeting is being held in Auckland on Sunday.
