FIRE BRIGADE MEETING* (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Eketahuna Municipal Volunteer Fire Brigade Superintendent H. E. Rogers presided over a full attendance of members. .... XU A circular was received from the Chief Fire Inspector as to proposed legislation bringing all brigades outside the four main centres under municipal control and co-ordination in fire insurance and equipment. It was decided to leave the matter over until further information was obtained as to the way the alterations would affect the local brigade. The Superintendent said he was pleased at the interest taken in the recent “Tripe Cup” competition and said the work of all three teams was to be commended. The committee’s report as to various matters in connection with the presentation of the 25 years’ Gold Star to Station Officer J. H. Ryan was received and endorsed. Personal Items. Mrs J. H. Hudson has returned from a trip to Balclutha. •- Mr B. O. Anderson has arrived back in Eketahuna after a trip to the East. Mrs Wilkie Anderson has been on a short visit to Wellington.
