PONGAROA

PERSONAL ITEMS. ("Times-Age” Special.) Mr Cromley has returned to Invercargill after having been the guest of Mr and Mrs S. W. Eunson. Mr Ridley, of the local Post- Office staff, who has been transferred to Te Awamutu, leaves on Monday. Miss Betty Johnston is a Pongaroa visitor to Masterton. Miss Freda Buckingham, of Pahiatua, is the guest of Miss I. McLaren. Good progress is being made with the extension of electric power to the Akitio County, and most of the poles have been erected in the township of Pongaroa. It is proposed to commence the wiring of houses next week, and power should, be available before Christmas. ■
