EKETAHUNA
SHARP EARTHQUAKE. (“Times-Age” Special.) Considerable alarm was occasioned in Eketahuna just before 1 o’clock yesterday morning by a sharp earthquake, the first recorded for some considerable time. No damage is reported to have been done. Fishing. Fishermen who have whipped the local streams report having had better fishing than has been experienced in recent seasons. Among others, Messrs F. and V/. Olsen have obtained excellent bags. Shearing Operations. Shearing operations will soon be generally under way. It is expected that the clips will be well up to those of last season. On some farms the output should be better than usual as more care is being taken in the general get-up of the wool, in-distinct contrast to the conditions which existed years ago. It is realised today that wool which has received care and attention will command the best prices at the sales, and Eketahuna farmers generally are striving after this ideal.
