WAIRARAPA GOLF CLUB. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Wairarapa Golf Club (men’s section) closed the season on Saturday. The prizes were presented by the president (Mr J. C. Bidwill), who congratulated Miss S. Collins on her winning the ladies’ New Zealand golf championship. The following are the prize winners: —Club championship: D. C. Collins; runner-up, E. Bidwill. Intermediate championship: B. Feist; run-ner-up, H. R. Bloxam. Junior championship: J. W. Card; runner-up, A. Barton. Victoria Cup: J. W. Card. Challenge Shield: J. W. Card. Defence Rifle Club. On Saturday a shoot was held for Mr L. G. Benton’s trophy. Details are as under: —
Personal. Miss A. Pryde, Nireaha and Mr G. Leslie, Eketahuna, who have been visiting Mr and Mrs Leslie, have returned home. Miss Felicity Thynne arrived today on a short visit to Mr and Mrs N. C. C. Shepherd. Miss Thynne is a niece of Mr Shepherd and is on her way to Samoa where she is to take charge of a hospital there. Euchre and Dance. There was a good attendance at the euchre tournament and dance held in the Pihautea Hall on Saturday night. The card winners were:—Ladies, Mrs C. Hodder ! 1, Mrs W. Connell 2. Men: Mr L. Ruku 'l, Mr G. Enoka 2. Mr P. Matenga and Mrs Riki were the Monte Carlo winners..
