WEDDINGS

MITCHELL—WAINSCOTT. Miss Florence Mary (Trixie). Wainscott, second daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Wainscott, made a charming bride, wearing a gown of cream satin with veil to match and carrying a sheaf of arum lilies for her marriage to Mr Harry Humphries Mitchell, son of Mr and Mrs H. A. Mitchell, of Palmerston North, at St Matthew’s Church, Masterton, on Saturday, October 22. The Rev E. J. Rich performed the ceremony. The bride was escorted by her eldest brother, Mr L. Wainscott. The bridesmaid was Miss Gwen Wainscott, sister of the bride, who was attired in a blue georgette frock trimmed with pink and blue forget-me-nots and wore on her hair a coronet qf same. Her bouquet was composed of blue forget-me-nots and pinks. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Oswald Percy as best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horse-shoe by little Janet Humphrey, of Dannevirke, niece of the bridegroom. A reception was afterwards held at the Cosy Tea Rooms, the guests being received by the bride’s parents, assisted by the bridegroom’s parents. Mr and Mrs Mitchell departed later for the south, the bride travelling in brown and wearing furs, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr and Mrs H. H. Mitchells’ future home will be in Palmerston North.
