Mrs C. S. Taylor, “Waireka,” has returned home after a visit to Wellington. Miss Betty Beale, Rexwood Street, Carterton, has returned from a short visit to Wellington. Mrs O. H. E. Yates, of Pownall Street, Masterton, has as her guest Mrs E. Yates, of Wellington. Miss A. McPhee, of Belvedere, has gone to Christchurch, where she will spend a fortnight’s holiday. Mrs J. Wells, Masterton, is the guest of her mother, Mrs J. Kennedy, Lyall Bay, Wellington. Mrs George Hume, who is at present living in Wellington, will shortly take up her residence in Masterton. Mrs T. Quayle, of Hataitai, who has been the guest of Mrs F. J. Traynor, of Pownall Street, Masterton, has returned to Wellington. Mrs R. W. Roydhouse and Miss Betty Roydhouse, who have been on a month’s visit to Sydney, returned to Carterton on Saturday. Mr and Mrs Chas. Todd, who had lived .in the Pirinoa district for some year.s, have taken up their residence in Masterton. The friends of Mrs J. Ackerman will regret to learn that she is at present in the Greytown hospital. She is making good progress after having undergone an operation. Mrs R. H. Every, Garrison Street, Carterton, will leave on Tuesday to attend the P.W.M.U. Conference which is being held in Dunedin, and will later travel to Hokitika to visit her son Mr Norman Every.
ENGAGEMENTS. The engagement is announced of Winifrede Cecila, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Savage, Masterton, .to William, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. Myers, Kilbirnie, Wellington. The engagement is announced of Dorothea Margaret, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs E. B. Woodhead, Wellington, to Douglas John Falloon, eldest son of the late Mr and Mrs J. D. A. Falloon, of “Bowlands,” Bideford, Masterton.
