RIFLE SHOOTING
MASTERTON-OPAKI CLUB WIN FOR T. OAKLY Very favourable conditions prevailed at 500 yards today for the weekly competition of the Masterton-Opaki Rifle Club, and consequently there was some high scoring. The president, H. H. Mawley, scored a possible. At 600yds there was a different story, as a strong choppy wind developed, causing “birds” and outers to be fairly frequent, while misses were not unknown. Mawley and H. King provided object lessons at' wind gauging at this distance. T. Oakly was the winner of the competition on his handicap allowance. Details of the shoot were as follows: 500 600 600
