RATE.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10 a.m.) LONDON, October 30. The annual report of the Ministry of Health for 1937 shows 5,265 more births, and 13,810 more deaths than in 1936. The birthrate of 14.9 per thousand is the highest since 1932, when it was 15.3.

The infant mortality rate is 58 per thousand compared with 59 in 1936. The maternal, mortality rate, 3.26 per thousand live births, is the lowest since 1911.

Cancer deaths totalled 66.991. which is 637. above the 1936 figure.
