CRICKET
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the management committee of the Wairarapa Cricket Association was held last evening. At the invitation of the committee Mi- D. E. Parton, the resident delegate in Christchurch for the Wairarapa Association on the New Zealand Cricket Council, attended the meeting and was able to give the local committee some very useful information, which was thoroughly appreciated. It was decided to nominate a team to compete in the Hawke Cup competition, and that the Hawke’s Bay Association be invited to play a twoday match at Masterton on December 26 and 27. Mr S. Brice was appointed as the Wairarapa representative to the Minor Associations’ Conference to be held at Palmerston North on Thursday next. The following were appointed as sub-committees; —Senior selector, Mr W. Hoar; junior selector, Mr T. E. Handcock; postponement committee, Messrs Tier, Ramsay and the secretary; fixture committee, Messrs Lendrum and Peterson. The following is the draw for the first round of the senior competition:— October 22 and 29. —College v Red Star, at College; Old Boys v Lansdowne, at Park. November 5 and 12. —Lansdowne v College, at College; Red Star v Old Boys, at Park. November 19 and 26. —Old Boys v College, at College; Lansdowne v Red Star, at Park. The following is the draw for the first games in the junior competition for next Saturday, October 22: —Old Boys v College, at College; St Patrick’s v Red Star B, at Park; Carterton v Red Star A, at Carterton; Martinborough v Oddfellows, at Martinborough; Masterton, a bye.
