CROQUET
MASTERTON CLUB. OPENING OF SEASON. The Masterton Croquet Club opened its season on Saturday afternoon in ideal weather, there being a large attendance. The President (Mrs Polson) welcomed the members and friends, expressing sympathy for those absent through illness. Before sending the first ball through the hoop Mrs T. Jordan (Patroness) wished the Club a very happy and su'cP cessful season. Mrs Jordan and Mrs Polson were presented with bouquets by Mrs Snowsill, who was also-respon-sible for the tasteful decorations of the club room. Posies were presented to the Captain and Secretary. The competition winners were: —Mrs Finlayson (French); Mrs Dunderdale (angles); Mrs Donnelly (feather and fan); Mrs Parker (ladder), and Mesdames Doggett and Copp (hurryscurry).
