CONSPIRACY TRIAL
THREE ACCUSED DISCHARGED. VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. SYDNEY, October 7. The trial of Eric Campbell, Brigad-ier-General W. H. Lloyd and R. A. Duesbury on a charge of conspiracy was concluded today. The jury, after a retirement of an hour and a half, returned a verdict of not guilty and all were discharged. The three accused were on trial on a charge of conspiracy to defraud the creditors of Du Menier Laboratories Ltd. The case for the Crown was that the three accused allegedly manufactured false evidence by falsification of documents which were to have been used before a court of justice, “if it became necessary or expedient,” the object being to relieve the three accused of share liabilities totalling over £3OOO. All pleaded not guilty. FURTHER CHARGES. (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) • SYDNEY. This Day. Campbell, Lloyd and Duesbury were immediately charged with conspiracy to falsify certain books of a public company. They pleaded not guilty and were remanded for trial.
