Water from an awkwardly placed tap can be directed where required by fixing a rubber tea-spout to the tap.
Before cooking lamb’s fry, remove the thin skin. The fry will be much onderer and more easily digested.
When a beautifying treatment hint irects the application of liquid with ■ ttonwool, first soak and wring the ■ cl in cold water to minimise its ibsorbency and so prevent waste.
To give the seams of woollen frocks a well-tailored look, run a fountain pen filler filled with water along the seams and follow with a hot iron.
To cool jellies quickly, place the mould in a basin of cold water to which has been added a handful of salt and soda.
To prevent the' bottom crust of a pie from becoming sodden with the juice of fruit, after you have lined the dish, brush over the paste with beaten egg, and allow it to stand for a few minutes.
Canvas chairs which have faded can be tinted successfully with cold water dye. Apply with an old toothbrush, and give -two applications.
To shell walnuts without breaking the kernels, place the nuts in a dish, and cover with boiling water. Then cover the dish and stand for half an hour.
To prevent cheese from becoming mouldy, wrap it in a piece of thin muslin wrung out in vinegar. As the cloth dries, moisten it again.
If there have been stains upon your carpet which when removed have left dull marks, try rubbing them over with vinegar on a clean cloth. The colours in your carpet will shine brightly once more.
