SLOVAK DEMAND
AUTONOMY IN FEDERATED STATE EQUAL PARTNERSHIP PLAN CERTAIN TO BE ACCEPTED BY CZECHS (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) PRAGUE, October 6. The Slovaks have decided in favour of autonomy with a federated state. Thus Czechoslovakia will be a Federated State, [With two equal partners. Acceptance of this plan by the Czech Government is certain. A government has already been formed, and the leader of the autonomists, M Tiscot, elected President. It included M M Sokol and Fidor, formerly violent autonomists and Agrarian and Nationist representatives. Slovakia will have her own Diet. HITLER’S TOUR. ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTIONS. (Received This Day. 10.10 a.m.) BERLIN, October 6. Herr Hitler inspected Zone 2 and was enthusiastically welcomed at Rumberg and other towns. The internationaol commission overcame the obstacle raised by Germany. It is expected to finalise an agreement shortly. It was provisionally arranged for Czechs to remove moveable weapons from Sudetenland, in exchange for political prisoners. EVACUATION PLAN. DEVISED BY LORD HALIFAX. LONDON, October 6. Winding up the debate for the Government in the House of Lords today. Lord Stanhope, President of the Board of Education, revealed that the timetable for the evacuation of the Sudeten areas was devised by Lord Halifax, Foreign Secretary.
