The Press has begun to urge the complete dismemberment of Czechoslovakia, advocating complete PolishHungarian unity as a check to the German advance to the Balkans. FRONTIER CLASH IRREGULARS ATTACK CZECH GUARDS HUNGARIAN AUTHORITIES ORDER RETIREMENT PRAGUE, October 6. The minorities negotiations between Hungary and Czechoslovakia were postponed at 8.10 a.m. today as a result of the Czech Government changes. Czechoslovakia has now replied to the Hungarian Note demanding immediate symbolic occupation and cession of the disputed territory a request to exercise patience. Last night Hungarian irregulars crossed the frontier at Felednice and Rimavska, attacking Czech guards. They also invaded Miskolcz and other Slovak towns, and penetrated to several kilometers before being halted by troops. The Hungarian military authorities ordered them to retire. Several were killed and wounded on both sides. NOT INTERESTED GERMANY AND THE HUNGARIAN CLAIM BRITISH NOTE TO WARSAW (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, October 6. The Australian Associated Press unedrstands that Germany is markedly disinterested in the Hungarian request to support her minority claim. It is learned that Britain has communicated with Warsaw, pointing out her disapproval of further demands on Czechoslovakia beyond those defined on an ethnological basis. FUND FOR REFUGEES. . OPENED BY LORD MAYOR OF LONDON. LONDON, October 6. Responding to a widespread desire, the Lord Mayor of London has opened a Mansion House fund for the relief of Czech refugees. He is requesting local authorities to do likewise throughout Britain. A general response is reported to the National Council of Labour’s appeal. The Miners’ Federation and the Post Office Workers have each given £lOOO.
