WAIRARAPA SEAT

MEETINGS IN EAST COAST DISTRICT. MR J. F. THOMPSON’S CAMPAIGN. Mr J. F. Thompson, National Party candidate for the Wairarapa seat, addressed a meeting of over 30 electors at Homewood yesterday. Mr Moore presided. The native population was well represented and followed the candidate’s address with keen interest. On the motion of Mr C. Hay, Mr Thompson was accorded a vote of thanks. Later in the day Mr Thompson spoke at Langdale, where he was cordially received by about 30 electors. Mr J. Andrew presided and a vote of thanks was passed to the candidate for his address. Last evening, Mr Thompson addressed the largest political meeting ever held in the Te Wharau district. Mr S. Gray was in. the chair. There was an attendance of between 50 and 60 electors, who followed Mr Thompson’s address with close interest. At the conclusion of the meeting Mr Thompson was accorded an unanimous vote of thanks and cheers were given for the candidate and for the National Party.
