PRICES AT MASTERTON. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Go, Ltd, report having held their weekly sale yesterday, when they had a fair entry of sheep and pigs. Store sheep were in keen competition and appreciated in value, particularly hoggets. Fat. sheep remained at late values. They had a total clearance at the following prices:—Fat wethers, 26s 6d to 27s 3d; fat hoggets 20s to 21s; Store sheep: Ewes and lambs all counted, 12s 4d; ewe hoggets, 21s to 28s; wether hoggets, 17s, 19s to 20s; b.f. hoggets, 19s; small hoggets, 11s 3d to 12s 6d; 2-th wethers, 235; Pigs: good weaners, 225, 25s to 265; slips, 30s. MASTERTON HORSE SALE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co, Ltd, report having held a most successful horse sale yesterday. There was a large attendance of buyers from local and outside districts. Although the prices were not high, the vendors met the market resulting in them selling all our entry of 48 horses, with the exception of four. The following will give an indication of values received: —On a/c Mr C. Olliver, 1 10-yr black mare in foal, £4B 10s; other draught geldings, £22s 10s to £3l. Hacks on a/c M. Rowlands, £9 10s, £lO 10s, £l3 10s, £l4 to £l6; others £8 to £ll. Ponies, £5 to £6. Messrs McDonald Bros of Canterbury, had 30 very useful draughts and all these were sold with the exception of two at the very satisfactory average price of £33. Geldings, all work, sold from £27 to £4l and mares £3O to £3B 10s.
