WOMEN’S DIVISION. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Tiraumea Hall was tastefully decorated by the local president, Mrs Harman snr, in honour of the Dominion President, Mrs Wickham, of Wanganui, on her visit to the Tiraumea branch. The visitor , was accompanied by Mrs C. C. Jackson, Dominion treasurer, Mrs Dagg, President of the Wairarapa Provincial Council, and Mrs Donald. There was an excellent attendance of members who were introduced to the visitors by Mrs Harman. Mrs C. Raleigh presented Mrs Wickham with a spray of polyanthus and hyacinths while musical honours were accorded her. Mrs Wickham gave a very interesting and impressive address which held the attention of all present. Mrs C. C. Jackson explained the Girls’ Flock House scheme and other matters of interest. Afternoon tea was served. Mrs Harman proposed a vote of thanks to the visitors which was carried by acclamation and the meeting was brought to a close by the singing of the hymn “Abide With Me.” Personal. Mr Gould, a former resident of Eketahuna, is visiting the town. Mr and Mrs A. Rowden and Mr J. Rowden have returned from a holiday spent in Sydney. Hastwells Tennis Club. The Hastwells tennis club is making preparations for another successful season, and the officials are working hard with that end in view. The club is indeed fortunate in possessing such a capable secretary as Miss E. Dick, who is proving an excellent organiser. The club will shortly hold its initial dance of the season.
