FEATHERSTON
RIVER BOARD MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a meeting of the South Wairarapa River Board there were present Messrs R. McDougall, W. H. Martin, Q. Donald, A. Linton, A. Ashdown. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs R. W. Matthews and, S. A. Herrick. Accounts amounting to £6l 16s were passed for payment. A report on the hydraulic control of flood water in Lake Wairarapa was read and adopted. The report is to be forwarded to the Public Works Department for consideration. Enjoyable Social. A very enjoyable social was held by Miss Draper’s dancing pupils and their friends on Saturday in the Town Hall. Mr Ross Fuge and Miss J. Worsley Avon the statue waltz. The novelty quick-step was won by Mr James Perfect. Defence Rifle Club. Preliminary to the official opening, which takes place next Saturday, when the Greytown Club and other visitors will be present, a practice shoot was held over 300, 500 and 600 yards in good, fine weather, when the following scores were returned, the ranges being 300yds., 500yds. and 600yds.:—W.
