EKETAHUNA STOCK SALE
DEMAND FOR DAIRY CATTLE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency held their weekly sale at Eketahuna on Thursday and report as follows: —The yarding came forward fully up to advertised numbers and we submitted 953 sheep and 90 head of cattle to a large attendance, including buyers from Manawatu and Levin. Although prices for hoggets did not advance as compared with recent sales the inquiry was keen, resulting in a good clearance. The demand for dairy cattle was fully sustained, both local and outside buyers competing keenly. Light fat and potter cows sold well at late rates. We yarded a pen of 40 P.A. cows r.w.
