WOOL SALES CLOSE
AN ACTIVE DEMAND ESPECIALLY FOR CROSSBREDS. RANGE OF PRICES FOR SERIES. (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) , LONDON, September 30. The wool sales concluded today with an offering of 8861 bales, including 6004 New Zealand, of which 7019 bales were sold. There was a moderate selection and an active demand, especially for crossbreds. New Zealand greasy Merinos “St Helens” clip realised 9Jd to lid. Throughout the series 84,800 bales were offered, including 38,300 bales from New Zealand, and 71,000 bales were sold, of whicn 34,000 bales came from New Zealand. The Home trade bought 43,500 bales and the Continent 27,500 bales. The range of prices shows that greasy Merinos finished par to 5 per cent higher; scoureds were at par; greasy crossbreds, fine, par to 5 per cent higher; medium to coarse, 5 per cent higher; scoured crossbreds, 5 per cent higher to par; medium to coarse scoured, 5 per cent higher.
