JAPANESE REPORT GAINS MAIN FORCES REACH LOSHAN. COUNTER ATTACKS REPELLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) TOKIO, September 30. The main Japanese forces have reached Loshan. The Chinese, after futile counter-attacks, withdrew, leaving 940 killed. The Chinese are reported to have lost eight thousand dead when Tienkiachen fell. MURDEROUS ATTACK FIRST PREMIER OF CHINA FATALLY INJURED (Received This Day, noon). SHANGHAI, September 30. Mr Tong Shaoyi, first Premier of the Chinese Republic, was attacked by two Chinese with hatchets, and died from his injuries. DECLARATION EXPECTED. PREPARATORY ACTION TAKEN IN HONG KONG. (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) HONG KONG, September 30. Anticipating a definite declaration of war between China and Japan, the Government has gazetted regulations providing for the internment of belligerent ships.
