♦ ADDITIONAL CHALLENGE CUPS The annual Wairarapa Show is to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 26 and 27, and entries close on for competition this year are the Walter competition this years are the Walker and Hall cup ter the champion hack, the J. G. McDonald Cup for open dog trials, Meat and Wool cup for best pedigree beef animal at the show; Jersey Breeders’ Cup for best Jersey yearling bull and a cup for most points in unhoused Romney sheep (to be won outright). Special prizes include P. Bain’s £3 3s for most points in grade dairy heifer classes and B. R. Rayner’s special for baconer pigs judged on the hooks. Schedules are free on application to Mr L. H. Smart, Secretary, P.O. Box 25, Carterton.
