BATTLE IN PALESTINE

AGAINST LARGE ARAB FORCE BRITISH PLANES & TROOPS ENGAGED. AT LEAST 100 RAIDERS KILLED. JERUSALEM, September 16. Thirteen planes and every available soldier in northern Palestine are engaged against the largest Arab force since the outbreak of trouble. The conflict was waged for hours around the village of Dierghassen, near Tulkarem, soldiers blocking the exits from the battlefield. It is believed that at least 100 Arabs were killed. Two cavalry squadrons, another’ battalion from England and three battalions from India are going to Palestine.
