ELECTION CAMPAIGN
NATIONAL PARTY. MR IRVING AT BELVEDERE TONIGHT. Mr J. H. Irving, National Party candidate for the Masterton seat, will deliver an address at the Belvedere schoolroom tonight. . SUCCESSFUL WEEK. ADDRESSES IN COUNTRY DISTRICTS. Mr J. H. Irving, National Party candidate for the Masterton seat and Mr G. R. Sykes, electorate organiser, have spent a very successful week in the ffectorate. Considerable interest is being shown in Mr Irving’s candidature and meetings addressed by him during the week have been-largely attended and great enthusiasm was evident. In addition to his attendance at Mr O. C. Mazengarb’s meeting in Masterton on Wednesday evening and at a social gathering at Mauriceville on Thursday night, Mr Irving addressed meetings during the week at Makomako, Marima and Hastwell. At the conclusion of his address at Marima, at which there was an attendance of 42, the chairman, Mr Morton Lawson, said it was proposed to hold a party meeting and he requested supporters to remain in the hall. Everyone present stayed for -the party meeting. . At the National Party gathering held at Mauriceville on Thursday evening, it was Mr A. Forsberg, chairman of the Mauriceville West/branch of the party, who extended a welcome to Mr and Mrs J. H. Irving and not Mr A. Caselberg as was stated previously. LABOUR PARTY. CHANGE OF MEETINGS. The meeting previously called for an address by Mr J. Robertson, M.P., at Rangitumau on Wednesday has' now been postponed. On Wednesday next |Mr Robertson will address a public meeting in the Opera House Masterton, instead of on Thursday as previously arranged.
