WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT ALFREDTON. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Alfredton Women's Institute Mrs Hull presided, and welcomed a new member, Mrs Horton. It was decided to send a parcel to the Makogai Leper Settlement. Mrs E McLean gave an interesting demonstration on Teneriffe work. Some pretty articles were exhibited. The competitions resulted as follow: Best ironed serviette, Mrs Low 1, Mrs Weston 2, Mrs Didsbury 3. Best bloom, Mrs Clarkson (flowering peach) 1, Mrs E. McLean (hyacinth) 2, Mrs Low (camelia) 3. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames George, Weston and Heckl'er. The singing of the National Anthem brought the function to a close.
