Winnipeg, Canada. —Frorh far-off India; a variety of alfalfa which grows on the slopes of the Himalaya Mountains, 15,000 feet above sea level, has been found to be most satisfactory for cultivation in the drought districts of Canada’s prairie provinces. This variety, called Ladak alfalfa, has had outstanding yields during the past five experimental years with onlj’ a minimum amount of moisture.
