u VITAL STATISTICS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The vital statistics for Greytown for August are:—Births, nil; marriages, nil; deaths, 2. Rainfall Record. The rainfall for August was 326 points, there being 15 wet days. In the corresponding month last year 152 points of rain fell on 12 wet days. Golf Matches Postponed. Owing to the wet conditions all golf matches were postponed over the weekend. I School Re-opened. The Greytown District High School resumed this morning after a fortnights’ holiday. Obituary. The death occurred at the Greytown Hospital on Saturday of Mrs Elizabeth Ann Groube, wife of Mr Thomas Groube. The late Mrs Groube was 79 years of age, and was the eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs S. E. Jackson, of Stonestead. She had lived in Greytown all her life and was held in high esteem for her many personal qualities. She had been in ill health for some years. She leaves the following sisters: Mrs G. S. Phillips (Kaitoke), C. Hawke (Masterton),. C. F. Duff( Greytown). The funeral took place this morning. Personal. ■> Mr R. P. Anker, who has been relieving at Featherston School, reported to Greytown for duty today in place of Mrs McPhee, who has gone to Milford School.
