RICHARDS—TOMLIN. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the Presbyterian Church, Carterton, on Saturday afternoon, Agnes Shiela Tomlin (a member of the nursing staff of the Masterton Hospital), second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. Tomlin, of Lincoln Road, Carterton (and formerly of Mauriceville), was married to Douglas Edward, son of Mr and Mrs F. Richards, Waitara, Taranaki. The bride was charmingly attired in a white satin frock, and carried a pretty bouquet of cream and white hyacinths. Miss Barbara Tomlin, of Wellington, a sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, and her frock was of pale green opal georgette, with hat to match. The bouquet, was of pink and white hyacinths, and cyclamen. The duties of best man were capably undertaken by Mr Stanley Richards (of the Post Office staff, Martinborough), a brother of the bridegroom. A reception was afterwards held at the Bandroom, when immediate relatives and friends were entertained. The bride’s mother, Mrs J. W. Tomlin, received the guests attired in a becoming navy frock, with coat .to match trimmed with fur. Her bouquet was of pink and blue hyacinths. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs F. Richards, wore a black tailored costume, her bouquet being of red anemones, hyacinths and freesias.

The church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride with pink japonica and flowering peach blossoms. During the afternoon Mr and Mrs Douglas E. Richards left for the north by car, the bride travelling in a navy tailored ensemble with flared coat. Mr Richards is a member of the engineering staff at Borthwick’s Freezing Works, and Mr and Mrs Richards will take up their residence at Vivian Street, Masterton.
