WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT. SEMI-FINAL DECIDED. t (By Telegraph —Press Association.) GISBORNE, September 2. In the semi-final of the New Zealand women’s hockey championship Eastern Southland beat Canterbury 2 —o in a spectacular game played at a fast pace throughout. Eastern Southland scored 15 minutes after the start but had no decided advantage till ten minutes before the close when two quick goals came after a sustained attack. Miss Jones scored twice and Miss Sherriff once. A heavy shower swept the field in the second spell, making the ground greasy.

The final tomorrow will be between Eastern Southland and Ashburton.
