FORESTERS’ LODGE

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. NATIONAL HEALTH SCHEME. The fortnightly meeting of the Court Loyal Enterprise, Ancient Order of Foresters, was held last evening, C.R. Bro T. N. N. Coley presiding. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Bros Leigh, Crocker, Gardner and Selby. Bro R. Walker* gave a favourable report on sick members. The secretary was unanimously supported in his method of organising the Christmas Tree function. Bro Davies gave a very glowing account of the Hibernian Lodge’s jubilee. He also reported on the United Friendly Societies’ card tournament. Bro Edwards reported on the Saturday night euchre tournament. A lengthy discussion took place on the proposed National Health scheme. Members were of the opinion that the scheme would not be detrimental to the Friendly Societies as at present functioning. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £l7 5s 4d were passed for payment. At the conclusion of business a pleasant time was spent practicing odes under the capable leadership of Bro Smith.
