Junior: Miss Jury a bye; Mrs McConnell v. Mrs Wall; Miss Sievers v. Miss Sutherland; Miss Mitchell a bye; Mrs Knutson a bye; Miss K. Martin v. Mrs Griffiths; Miss M.' S. Martin v. Miss Blundell; . Mrs Marflitt a bye. C grade: Mrs Whitehorn v. Miss Harding; Miss Stewart v. Mrs Willis; Mrs Kershaw v. Mrs Pain; Mrs Rankine v. Mrs Knell; Mrs Caseley, a bye. As the men will be playing an allday match with Masterton there will be no competitions for the ladies on Saturday. Football Matches. On Saturday the Martinborough third grade team defeated Marist (winners of the third grade championship in Wellington) by 19 points to 9. The Marist fifth grade team (Wellington) beat the local schoolboys by 16 points to 3. National Party Function. There was a large attendance at the National Party’s euchre and bridge tournament held in the Parish Hall last evening. The winners were: Bridge: Ladies, Mrs Sievers 1, Mrs W. G. Martin 2, Mrs M. A. Quin. Men: Mr W. B. Martin 1, Peter McDonald 2, F. B. Wright. Euchre: Ladies: Mrs. Fisher 1, Mrs Grimstone 2. Men: Mr Banks 1, Mr Stumbles 2.
