SALVATION ARMY
THE ANNUAL SELF-DENIAL APPEAL. The Salvation Army's annual selfdenial appeal is now being made throughout the Dominion and the help of friends and supporters' is again solicited. Masterton residents, it is stated, always respond, readily to thb Army’s appeal and any assistance that is forthcoming enables the- Army to continue its great work among those most in need of help. People in need of txelp are “accepted from police courts, welcomed from prisons, lifted from the streets and invited from- hovels.” The Salvation Army has many, institutions to maintain and looks to the proceeds of the annual self-denial appeal for a material contribution to the support of these institutions.
