GOLF COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The final qualifying round was played on Saturday afternoon. Those who qualified in the championship rounds were: —Men: E. Nitz, H. Paku, M. Paku, W. Kummer, S. Gray, H. Winter, I. McGregor and N. Foreman. Ladies: Mrs Nitz, Miss M. Taylor, Mrs Foreman, Miss Taylor, Mrs Schofield, Mrs Read, Miss Vennell and Mrs I. McGregor. The first round for the championship will be played on Saturday afternoon when the following will meet: —Men: E. Nitz and I. McGregor; H. Paku and N. Foreman; M. Paku and W. Kummer; S. Gray and H. Winter. Ladies: Mrs Nitz and Miss Vennell; Miss M. Taylor and Mrs I. McGregor; Mrs Foreman and Miss Taylor; Mrs Schofield and Mrs Read. The following is the draw for the handicap cup:—Men: Cotter v. R. McKinstry; A. McGregor v. F. McKinstry; P. Kummer v. R. Vennell; J. Bannister v. N. Kummer. Ladies: Miss Bannister v. Miss Dickason; Miss McGregor v. Miss Buckeridge; Mrs A. McGregor v. Mrs J. Bannister; Mrs McKinstry v. Mrs R. Bannister; Miss Schofield a bye. In a Nimmo Cup match E. Nitz defeated S. Gray 1 up and Mrs Schofield withstood a challenge from Mrs Nitz for the Kummerstein Cup. Challengers for the above cups may nlay their matches during the week as there 'will be-no challenges played during the championship. Those desiring to enter for the third round of the Nimmo Cup must lodge their nominations with the secretary not liter than September 10. On ' Thursday afternoon the first round of the second series in the children’s competition will be played for the McGregor Cup. Next weekend the annual inter-club match with Tyneside Club will be played at Tyneside, commencing at 1 o’clock sharp. Any player who is not available is requested to notify the club captain before Saturday.
