TABLE TENNIS MATCH. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Methodist Table Tennis Club visited Carterton on Monday night when a match was played against the Carterton Club, the challenge shield being finally won by Greytown. The results were as follow: —Men’s singles: Greytown, 9 matches, 18 games. Carterton, 1 match, 5 games. Ladies singles: Greytown, 5 matches, 12 games. Carterton, 5 matches, 12 games. Men’s doubles: Greytown, 4 matches, 9 games. Carterton, 1 match, 6 games. Ladies’ doubles: Greytown, 1 match, 4 games. Carterton, 4 matches, 8 games. Combined doubles: Greytown, 6 matches, 16 games. Carterton, 4 matches, 8 games. Total: Greytown, 25 matches, 59 games. Carterton, 15 matches, 39 games. WOMEN’S DIVISION. The monthly meeting of the Greytown branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Odd Fellows’ Hall yesterday afternoon. Mrs Beu presided over a good attendance of members. The shop day committee handed to the funds the sum of £7 15s 7d. Mesdames Beu and Hutchings were accorded a vote of thanks for their effort. It was. decided that a social to be held on September 30 be open to men. Mesdames V. Kempton and F. Wallace were elected new members. Members were reminded of the visit to Masterton of the Dominion President. Miss Moore, of Wellington, will be the speaker at the next meeting. Mrs Allen, of Carterton, gave a demonstration of cooking for show purposes, accompanied by many useful hints for which she was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. A vote of thanks was passed to the Power Board for the loan of an electric stove. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Denny, Dyson, Hutchings and S. Skeet. GOLF COMPETITIONS. The following is the draw for the semi-finals of the championships, also a Stableford bogey for the Collier Trophy:— Mrs Thompson v. Miss E. Gregor; Mrs Bunny v. Miss Nix; Mrs Balfour v. Mrs Horner; Mrs Maddison v. another; Mrs Jury v. Miss N. Bouzaid; Miss M. Collier v. the winner between Mrs G. and Mrs R. Ingley; Miss B. Haigh v. Miss B. Gregor; Miss I. Collier v. Miss B. Feast. Eleven-hole nlayers to qualify for a trophy donated by Mr W. Feast Senr.:. Miss;B. Kiernan v. Miss M. Wood; Miss M. Eccles v. Miss M. Webster; Miss B. Jury v. Miss M. Nix; Miss J. Feast v. another.
