Dresses Slashed by Razor.
At least three dresses and a costume belonging to a New Plymouth girl have apparently been slashed with a razor during the past month and it is understood she has also lost £2 from her room at a private hotel. The damage is thought to have been done by someone with a grudge against her, although no cause for any person to take such revenge is known. About a month ago she found one dress damaged and at various times since the others were ruined, the last being discovered when the owner was preparing to leave for a holiday in Auckland. She also discovered that the money was missing. The time the damage was done and whether it was all done at the same time are not known as the frocks and the costume are rarely worn. They are of high quality, being evening frocks and a costume purchased for wearing on special occasions. No one else in the same hotel has complained of losses or of vandalism among their belongs, the opinion being that the girl has been victimised.
