CONTINUING DOWNPOUR IN SYDNEY. WATER SHORTAGE RELIEVED. (Recd This Day, 10.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Steady rain which has fallen throughout the weekend is continuing. The registration on the Sydney catchment area is the highest since April, 1935. It was reported from Sydney recently that an unprecedented shortage of water was in prospect in the metropolitan area and that severe restrictions on the use of water had been imposed.
