ST. ANDREW SOCIETY
ARRANGEMENTS FOR COMING GATHERING. A meeting of the council of the Saint Andrew Society was held last evening, when final arrangements were made for the monthly gathering on September 3. On this occasion, the Wellington Caledonian Society and its Pipe Band will be the guests of the society, and the attendance at the gathering is consequently expected to be even larger than usual. It was therefore decided to hold the gathering in the Municipal Hall, and on this occasion to admit non-members without the necessity of their being introduced by members. Charges for admission of non-members were fixed at 2s 6d for 1 men and 2s for ladies, juvenile (under 16) Is. A full dance orchestra is also to be engaged. It is hoped that during the course of the evening the Wellington Band will give a DrumMajor’s display.
