She played with brilliant ease over the second nine, being seldom off the fairway and approaching close to the pin. Miss Fleming was not hitting her shots as well as yesterday, being off the line with her tee shots and visiting a number of bunkers. \ Miss Horwell started badly, being out in 44, seven at the par four fourth hole. Her game, however, improved considerably toward the end of the round. Miss Helean, after a good outward half, finished very poorly, losing strokes to part at the last five holes, including seven at the par three seventeenth.

Miss Mona McLeod with an aggregate of 158, would have headed the qualifiers had she participated in the championship. She won the challenge bowl for the 36 Ifoles handicap run in conjunction with the two qualifying rounds. Mrs Fullerton-Smith with a four handicap finished second in this event and also in the 18 holes handicap in conjunction with today’s qualifying round. In the draw for the match play Mrs Fullerton-Smith, Miss Kernot, Mrs Hore and Miss Horwell are all in the top half.
