Mr A. M. Goulding, .S.M;, has been appointed a member of the Hutt District Licensing Committee. Mr G. W. Armitage has been elected chairman of the Canterbury Education Board. He succeeded Mr J. W. Preen. Mr J. R. Sutcliffe, B.Sc., who has been headmaster of Scots College, Wellington, since 1930, will leave Wellington for Sydney today. He is to take up his new position as headmaster of the Church of England Grammar School, Melbourne, at the beginning of next month. The Hon W. Nash,' Minister of Finance, ' will leave Wellington tomorrow afternoon to take part in the service in Christ Church, Wanganui, on Sunday morning, and also at a special meeting on Sunday evening concerning the Cathedral Fund Appeal. He will return to Wellington on Monday morning. The death occurred at Dannevirke yesterday of Mrs W. McGrath, eldest daughter of Mr and the late Mrs E. Lee, Carterton. Besides her husband, she leaves a grown up family of four daughters and one son. Mesdames F. Rawlings, G. Wiley, J. Nilsen and M. Bambry, Carterton, are sisters, and Messrs F. and V. Lee, Clareville, are brothers. The following executive committee was elected at the annual meeting last night of the Wellington Chapter of the New Zealand Institute of Secretaries: Messrs J. Annand-Smith (Dominion president), E. H. Bell, C. S. B. Lambert, R. J. Mathers, W. D. Gordon, A. E. Gorton, A. W. Nisbet, W O. Urquart, R F. Goodworth, W. O. Gibb, A. Comfort, and E. A. Wallace. Messrs Annand-Smith, G. N. Boulton, Wanganui, and Wallace, were elected members of the Dominion Council. Mr J. S. Barton, C.M.G., was elected patron.
