WAIRARAPA HANDICAP TOURNAMENT. ARRANGEMENTS FOR TOMORROW. The Wairarapa Basketball Association’s season will close tomorrow with a handicap tournament. Play will commence at 2 p.m. The handicaps, times and referees are as follow: — A Grade. First round: 1, Stars I ( —6) v. College B (scr.), Court I, 2 p.m., Miss O. R. Sutherland; 2, High School Old Girls II (—2) v. College A (—1), Court 11, 2 p.m.. Miss L. Renner; 3, lona (—5) v. High School Old Girls I ( —5), Court I, 2.25 p.m., Miss R. Edwards; 4, Stars II ( —2),’ a bye. Second round: 1, Winners 1 v. Winners 2, Court I, 2.25 p.m., Miss B. Venner; 2, Winners 3 v. S.tars II ( —2), Court I, 3.15 p.m., Miss D.. O’Donnell. Final: Court I, 3.40 p.m., referee to be arranged. B Grade. First round: 1, lona ( —5) v. Technical Old Girls (—3), Court 111, 2 p.m., Miss J. Russell; 2, College I ( —2) v. Dalefield (—6), Court 11, 2.25 p.m., Mr Price. Second round: 1, Winners 1 v. Winners 2, Court 11, 2.50 p.m., Miss P. Baskiville; 2, College II (scr.) v. Carterton (—7), Court 111, 2.50 p.m., Miss B. Venner. Final: Court 11, at 3.20 p.m., Miss O. R. Sutherland. During the afternoon the association’s cups will be presented to the winning teams. The various clubs have been most successful in the Queen Carnival effort for the representative team’s funds. The winning queen is Miss Hazel Beech, of the lona Club, which has been untiring and most enterprising in all its efforts. The club is to be congratulated on the excellent. result achieved.
