TOWNWOMEN’S GUILD
ANNUAL SOCIAL. The second annual social of the Townswomen’s Guild, held in the Y.M.C.A. Hall on Wednesday night, was an outstanding success. A varied programme, interspersed with competitions and games, was thoroughly enjoyed by the large number of members and friends present. The programme was a follows:— Pianoforte duets, Mesdames Bennett and Coleman; part songs, the Singing Circle, under the direction of Miss D. O'Donnell; Maori item, in costume, Mrs H. Thompson; folk dancing, in costume, Mrs Bennett’s group of members; songs, Miss D. O’Donnell. Miss I. Grant, leader of the Drama Circle, produced a one-act play, “Flickering Light,” those taking part being Mesdames Brown, Burke and Hair, and Misses Grant and Speedy. Supper was served by the committee and was followed by dancing which concluded a particularly enjoyable function.
